Well i've gotta samsung sync master 204b with a max native res of 1600x1200. For the past ~1 year ive had it its worked perfect at 1280x1024 using both a x800 and now my 8800gts for the past 8 months or so. Recently i decided i wanted to use 1600x1200 and when switch the res up after a minute or two it begins to artifact/fuzzy pixels only in dark colors and my monitor will sometimes flash on/off. But as soon as i switch back 1280x1024 its fine.

Some info to kno: Core temp on my 8800 doesn't go over 64C at max load (thats only core), im using a 6ft dvi cable and this is really ****ing me off

I have some ideas as to what it might be but i'd like to kno what you guys think of the situation.

also i dug out my old X800 and have been rocking away at 1600x1200 for a while now and no artifacts.... So i guess its my 8800gts thats the problem. So any tips or ideas of things i could try to fix it?

EDIT: this is all with stock speeds aswell

thanks

Hrmm a bit hot for being stock... but like you said, that's only load... first make sure the native res for your monitor is correct, then make sure of what you're setting it to, also might want to check the set refresh rate... it shouldn't have a problem displaying any res while in desktop. So, must be either a config issue or a driver issue. Might want to make sure you have newest drivers.

1600x1200 works on my monitor it works with my other gfx card. i have the latest drivers, refresh rate doesn't matter with LCD and theres only 1 option anyways.

so yea :P any other ideas folks
