The same thing happened to me when I installed my 6850. I reseated my water block 5 times with the same results. I pulled the cpu out and reinstalled it and it booted fine. What are the specs of the rest of your setup? I would also pull the CMOS battery and move the jumper to clear on your motherboard to clear the bios, put the jumper back, pop your battery back in and give it a try.

Can't really say without knowing the rest of your system. Most cases where I have seen this looping problem a fresh install of Windows XP was required if that is your OS. That's a wild guess without knowing the full system specs.

The PC starts up and it seems fine then it closes down after getting onto my desktop, only takes about 1 min on desktop then it reboots and continues in this pattern. Ive taken the Zalman off and reseated the chip but it stills does the same thing i never had this porblem with the E6300.
Thanx guyz my system specs are...
Intel E6300
Nvidia 7800
2 gig DDR II 5300
Windows XP
PSU 450 watt
MB Asrock ConRoe945G-DVI

It boots into windows and gets to desktop then it lasts about 1 to 2 minutes and then reboots and continues in this cycle. Should i put the old E6300 back in and update my BIOS and chip set drivers then try again? The bios has never been updated since i first bought the MB and i think it has the first version of the bios installed.
Thanx for the help guyz.
ps I tried installing windows again it came up with some error message when it was trying to reinstall windows.
you should check your CPU temperatures in the bios first. Also, it might be the system is unstable.

I would update the BIOS first thing, it could simply be a BIOS setting (even with defaults). Was this system ever running alright? Did you change any BIOS settings before it started acting like this?

The system was running fine and recently i put everything in the bios back to default factory settings because Armed Assault didnt like the OC ing i had done.
