Hello here. I've just got my hands on a laptop which I'm taking off to university in October, but I've got a bit of a problem here...

First of all, let me start with the laptop.
I've got a Fujitsu Siemens D1840
P4 3.2GHz
512MB PC2100
ATI Mobility Radeon 9600 128MB [[Using Omega Drivers 3.8.252 (Catalyst 6.5)]]
80GB HDD 4200rpm

OK, now I've installed Half Life 2, Medieval 2 and some other games..... The problem is they all lag and stutter like hell!!

I've tried HL2 on my desktop P4 3GHZ, 1GB, FX5200 with less lag!!!

I've turned down the resolutions, graphic settings etc but still they all lag.

Im planning on upgrading the HDD to a 5400rpm, I was wondering if this will help anyway? Or am I better to upgrade to 1GB memory?

Thank you all.

You'll notice more difference with extra ram since the hard drive typically helps with loading time.
