My friend and I were standing around, we were about to start a little mod for his spare computer, basically adding a HD cradle, and I had just finished painting my own "spare" case, because I do things like that just for the heck of it. And then he pulled out his laptop to use outside and I told him he should paint it black. And that's when we went "Hmm...."
So we came up with the plan to paint it a black base coat with a batman logo on the top, using our own stencil, and then finishing it up with some coats of clear coat.
Pictures and more work logs will be posted, but so far we've got his laptop dismantled, leaving just the body, and we put painter's tape on his fingerprint scanner and touchpad.
I've applied at least 15 coats of Rust-oleum Flat black textured paint and we bought a can of reflective gold metallic paint. I'm a krylon man myself, but they didn't have much at Home Depot, so...
For those who are wondering, I don't know much about the laptop, but I know it's a Toshiba Tecra. A nice laptop, I must say. It has a silver paint job and had some hideous black ingrained residue from commercial stickers. Must have been from dead skin cells and grease...
dismantled laptop.

That USB keyboard is there because we were gonna try booting it for fun and then we were idiots and realized we needed the power button which was on top of the body, that was sitting outside drying.
Laptop keyboard is at the left.
