I have a SoundBlaster Live5.1 pci soundcard that supports EAX. I have some games (Farcry) that have EAX. There are probably many that do, or even close to all games that support EAX. Its above and beyond just having multi speakers, and it may be simply having it on or off, or a varying degree of EAX. EAX makes a difference. I have 2 seperate pairs of powered speakers, connected to the SB Live5.1. There are a bunch of setings in windows and for the SB software itself wrt number of spkrs, and the effect wanted, not to mention the settings in the game(s) itself. All I can say is that there is a difference when everything is working right vs when something may be off or not set or not working. I am just curious if the sound quality of the hardware in the Realtek ALC883, on many motherboards (eg Asus P5K I am thinking of), is comparable to everything on or everything off or somewhere in the middle. I am sure it has to do with the EAX setting, a SB (game) technology that is so good. Will this Realtek ALC883 do EAX, or be really on?
