Ok, I am in the middle of building my new computer.

I just put the 8800GTS vid card into the PCI-E 16 and noticed the additional power cord in the box. It connects at the end of the video card, then splits into 2 MALE connectors that fans have. Do I need to connect them both in?

The wires from the male connectors go into different parts of the connection that connects to the vid card.

Please helP!! thx.

uh, the part that connects to the vid card has 6 contacts, the 2 cords are made for 4 contacts (like fans), but actually only have 3 in each.

you mean the kind that you can hook up directly to your psu?
(if that's the case then yeah you need to connect it to the psu)

But there is 2 of them, that are the exact same cord coming from the vid card... connect them both to the PSU? haha

Thats right, the adapter is for older power supplies without the 6pin output.

yeah, I figured you didn't have one of those since I thought you would already have found it, lol. But yeah that's better :D

JESUS CHRIST! What the hell were you guys telling him! :p

No... obviously if you already have your PCI-E 16 cable connected you don't need to connect anything else.
