i have a case that originally had an intel 233 mmx in it on an at style mobo, and i have a spare amd k6-2 450 lying around on an atx style mobo.
The motherboard fits in the case but requires an atx psu.
however if i take the old power supply out, the power switch (button in front of the case) is hooked up to that thick black cable attached to the old psu.
Is there a way I can put in an atx power supply and have the button power it up, without resorting to getting a new case?

If you dont mind modding that case you can purchase a set of the wires(power, reset, HDD light and Green LED) and just replace take out the old buttons and LEDs and replace them with the new lights. I' m not sure that the power button will fit though...
