new memory help

I'm looking at getting some new memory. I was looking at getting G.SKILL 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400).

My motherboard can support up to 1066Mhz but I've heard that the difference isn't much compared to the price so i should stick with 800. What are your thoughts?

Actually after a little research im going to be going with the Crucial Ballistix 2GB (2 x 1GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 800. I should have read a few posts before i posted this. Sorry

I have a set of these .They have D9GMH ic's and OC pretty well.I had a set of the Crucial Ballistix 2GB also and my Geils OCed better plus the crucails died but the geils didnt

Did you have a fan blowing over the memory? The Crucials do get pretty warm when you start giving them some volts. Amazing what a little airflow will do.

So would anyone else recommend the Geil over the Crucials?

Most would say Crucail.But i for 1 will buy Geil over Crucials now.Check out their website.They have a big following now
