Win Xp problem does it happen to you?

I have this problem and it's annoying now...i got Windows Xp power pack...but before that i installed this program that lets me change the "look" of the windows task bar not after a little while thr hard drive starts running then it turns into the Windows classic task bar and kills my internet connection..... what's up with that?

i changed the start button and task bar in XP using the Registry

Well I should say it changed the whole look...the colour of windows...I should say.
