How good are these? Are they really that quiet?
EDIT: Ordered 6 fans. Should get 9. Will let everyone know how they are.
Everyone but you on the forum knows about these fans ;)

then when you start gettin like 10+ they are only 2.80 a piece for all 10+ not just the amount above 10... go jab-tech... they are soo good over there.

Looks like Nexfan is having some issues as of late ... http://www.resellerratings.com/store/Nexfan
I remember reading somewhere that the black and orange version is more quiet than the fully black one. Anybody know more about this?

nope... http://jab-tech.com/YATE-LOON-120mm-Case-Fan-D12SL-12-Black-Orange-pr-3851.html
same specs as the "original" yate that everyone loves... i will probably never buy another type of 120mm fan... the original 47cfm yates blow the perfect amount of air and are very quiet... i run all mine at 6v spinning round 800rpm's.

this deal is a little different. buy 2 and get one free. so it's really 3 for $8. if you can get them cheaper, great! just clarifying.

How do yate loons compare to generic 120mm stock fans that most cases come with as far as airflow?

These fans are really nice. I modded all 7 case fans for my Cooler Master CM690 to 6v and now they are completely silent. Now just to make that custom heatsink cooling for my NB and have a completely silent PC. I guess tomorrow more modding to do. :)

2 heatsinks ordered for the mod will use the ones that will best fit for what I need. Silent NB FTW! :) Seriously though what were they thinking making the NB fan so loud... Loudest thing in my PC by far!

I'm not sure but I'm curious as well.
These have "High airflow level, 47 CFM "
I looked on newegg and most popular ones have 60-110 CFM.
Can someone explain CFM?

CFM is (in very basic terms) the amount of air the fan moves. The higher the CFM, the more air gets moved. 47cfm is just about perfect for today's low-cfm optimized radiators, and just good enough to get some decent performance out of high-cfm optimized radiators (like BIX's).
These fans are widely regarded as the 'perfect mix between air flow and noise', and are used by many people in many different situations.

Did anyone order from nexfan? I ordered on tuesday and I've been checking the status page from the order email and it's blank, doesn't say processing or shipped or give me a tracking number. Is this normal, did this happen to you too Zip?

these are the only 120mm fans ive ever used in my systems..
They are almost perfectly silent and move tons of air. i use 5 in my server, 3 in my main rig and 1 in my matx rig.. you can rarely hear any of them.

I ordered Tuesday morning...its now Thursday 5 PM and I have no tracking number, no response to my email, no status (its just blank)...I was hoping to get them by Friday but if they are not even shipped yet it looks like Monday or later...which is just awesome because I got my new case and new heatsink and I was hoping to put everything together this weekend but now I have to wait until next week to finish assembling the case....yey...=/ times like these suck.

And as an addendum, the manufacturers are generally free to say whatever they want when it comes to noise and airflow specs on their fans. Imagine if Honda said the Civic had 450hp.. how do you know it actually does, you ask? Because they say it does. :)
The yates are, if anything, a bit underrated, and they're cheap and have really good noise tendencies.
