hi all i just upgraded to an Intel Pentium 4 3.4GHz 800MHz 478pin 1MB CPU and 2x1 gig kingston hyper x ram, with a ASUS P4P800E deluxe i already had...I just finished installing it...
after a little trial and error with the overclocking i got it up to 4.08ghz....at 20% boot and "turbo".....but does not seem to be stable... i have it down to 10% and its clocked at 3.7 right now...

does anyone have any advice on how to get the most oc'ing from this set up??

I also need to know to how activate the "performance mode" for my ram....

thank you

I'm afraid we're going to need more info.
What kind of power supply?
What's your cooling?
What do your temps look like?
What voltages are you running?
Jumping to 20% overclock is pretty big on those Prescotts.

In addition to listing the info requested above, how about giving us (listing) your Advanced Settings detail?

As already posted...that 20% overclock for a 3.4GHz is putting you near the upper limit of those procs and the Turbo setting is not likely to be stable since it has the tightest internal latencies for the chipset. Cooling is important, as these aren't called "Preshotts" for nothing.

If you don't already have a copy of Memtest, get one to do your preliminary stability testing.
