watching dvd's on windows mce 2005

got my htpc together and using mce 2005. I put in an original dvd and all i get is a black screen, but if I make a copy of the dvd it plays fine. what's up??? I think when i first installed it they would play but for some reason i have to burn a copy to play it now..HELP....

Maybe Region encoding on the original disc...or digital encryption. I am not familiar with MCE, but I bet there is a way to work around region encoding. As for encryption, I think your DVD decoding software might need to be updated.

I am just guessing, but maybe worth a try.
