I have a P4 1.9 runnning on a Asus P4T-E. I have been running at 112 FSB with the Core Voltage at 1.850. I have had no problems for a week until last night. All of a sudden the machine will not POST most of the time. Sometimes it does.

I lowered the FSB to 110 and CV to 1.800 and it works just fine. Also, an odd situation I thought, I tried 115 FSB and CV @ 1.850 and it will POST just fine. With the exception of my SCSI card will not initialize that with the FSB being that high. When I go back to 112 @ 1.850 no POST most of the time again.

What happened? Any suggestions? It is not heat related, I know that.

Thanks,

Frank T. Lee

Welcome to the foums, ftlee.

That is a strange problem. Have your temps changed any lately or have you changed anything in the computer physically when the problems started? How about the temps in the room that you have the computer in, were they higher than when the computer was running fine at 112 fsb? Your proc might be at it's very limit at a 112 fsb and if the temp went up in your room, might have been just enough to cause problems. Maybe you should try running at 110 fsb for a week or so and then bump back up to 112 fsb. You should hardly notice any difference; that should only be 38 mhz speed loss.
