I started overclocking my e6300 from bios by changing FBS from 266 to 270 and when I booted cpuz showed multiplier x6 when it should be 7 (it shows 7 in bios), so it actually "downclocked". what's wrong?

disable c1e and eist (speedstep) in BIOS.

Or just put a load on your CPU , and watch it jump back up to 7. Don't worry, it'll be 7 when you need it, and 6 when you don't.
