I go to plug it in this morning, and not only will Windows not recognize it, but I hear a click shortly after I plug it in. It just happens over and over. I hear the drive wind up and then click. I can't get Windows to see it, and this drive basically has all my files on it :p

Movies/MP3/Benchmarks....etc

Anyway I can get some of the data off this USB drive? Its a 120GB

Thanks. Last time I buy a Western Digital thats for sure.Serious? 1 drive dies and you hate them now? I can understand if you tried to RMA and they either refused or had horrible support. All hardware will fail at some time...

WD was useless for me on the phone. I bit the bullet, and got myself an Iomega eGo 250GB in C-A-M-O! It's supposed to withstand a 60" drop!!!

especially hard drives. Of the 5 pieces of dead hardware i've had, 4 were hdd's and one a psu.

I have the same problem except with a Seagate FreeAgent external drive. It worked fine then one day it would just spin up, click, respin, click, respin, etc.... Wouldn't even read when I took it out of the enclosure and plugged it in directly to the comp. I was thinking it's the logic board on the harddrive since there was no physical damage to the drive or anything.
