Hard drive #1: Windows 2K
Hard drive #2: linux

I want to format hard drive #2 to FAT32. I've never used fdisk before, I don't even know how to get to it.

I've created windows 2k setup/boot disks b/c I was told I could format from there, but it doesn't seem to work. This is really sucking...

Just make sure once you're in there you change to the second disk or you could accidentally wipe out your primary drive.

Trey hit it right though, FDISK really isn't that difficult...just don't be afraid of it.

well, uhm, when I'm in the command line, and type fdisk, I get:
'fdisk' is not recognized as an internal or external command, operable program or batch file.

also, at long last, I was able to use partition magic to changet the hard drive partitions to one big fat32 partition, and I've since been trying to use windows to format the entire partition, with trouble. When I try to format it as FAT32, it says that the volume is too big for FAT32 (its a 40 gig hard drive). I'm now trying to format it as NFTS, to see if that will make a difference. Am I on the right track?

you need to get a copy of partitiom majic, or use your Disk management in your administrative tools

FDISK used to scare the crap out of me :( . But now after 3 rigs, 4 OS, and tons of formats, i use it whenever i feel inclined. But as trey said, its user friendly
