Hi guys!
I was wondering, does anyone know of a way that I may be able to make a "homebrew" IDE to USB connector? I have been looking around on the internet for a while. So far, I found this picture...

Can anyone tell what is on this?

The reason why I want to do this is because at school, I want to start quake tournaments and things like that, but the school won't let me use their hard drives. Therefore, my first thought was JUMP DRIVE... well, that can't access info. quick enough. Therefore, I needed a USB Hard drive, but I don't own one. I found things on the net that let you convert IDE to USB, but DANG most of them are pretty expensive. So, why not a "homebrew" version???

Any thoughts on this?

newegg. cheap. probobly a wast of time to home brew one unless you want to write all the software for it and have insane soldering skills.
BTW: you want USB to IDE

Note that most school sys admins (at least ones worth their salary) will have disabled the "other boot device" option and locked the bios with a password. Before anyone suggests he just resets the BIOS, they keep the computers locked down in high school (I'm assuming this is high school, if you're in college... why are you wasting your time, just don't go to class :D).

The way he worded he makes it sound like they just don't want it installed on their hard drives, that it would be ok on his usb hard drive though. I could be wrong though...
