Eheim water pump (1248 prefered)...anyone sell these other then DZ?

I am having trouble finding anyone selling Eheim pumps other then online @ Danger Zen , sooo where else are they sold I would like to compare prices and if possible find one locally.

Its strange these pumps are considered the best by some but nobody sell them whats up with that?

I found one at a local specialty pet store for only(?!) $159.00. I said, "hhmmmm... $159, go to hell" and then I went and picked up a 280GPH "Topfin" at Petsmart for $25. For $25 bucks I don't care if it even works, but I've heard good things about them from a couple other people.

PS 1248 Eheim is not longer made I believe but there is the 1250 which is $69.89 with a 317 GPH flow rate..

Thanks all , I've got two questions.

1) Have you used and do you recommend using the companies you posted links for (you never know)?

2) Has anyone used both the 1048 and the 1250? Would you try to detail the noise I can expect from one or both of these pumps at full power not submerged?

I have an Eheim 1048 and it's very quiet while running. Low pitched hum is all, can barely hear it from 2 feet.. If you mounted it on ruber it'd be even quieter.
