I have a PII 233 Slot A
B80522P233512 SL2QA
98030143-424 MALAY
I want to overclock this chip. As far as I can get is 266 mhz
75mhz X 3.5. Maximum bus speed of the mother board is 75mhz.
I Have tried changing the multiplier but no luck.
Is there a way of unlocking the multiplier.
Is there any other options that I have.
Would like to try and get this chip to run around 300 mhz. If that is possible.
Cooling is not an issuse. This chip will be keep cool.

Hmmmm... if your multiplier is locked, you're SOL on changing it... no one's found a way to unlock those pesky Intel multipliers yet. You might try downloading SoftFSB or CPUFSB from a download site you like (I use www.cnet.com (http://www.cnet.com) but to each his own). Then find your motherboard in there, and change the spped.

Actually, some of the VERY VERY early PII 233's were unlocked... but they started locking them pretty quickly after it was released and everything from there on up is locked.
