I have two hard drives, one has win2K on it, one is now blank. I want to install several partitions on my empty hard drive, including win2k, win98, etc. -but when I try to boot up with the win98 disk, it keeps wanting to overwrite my current hard drive's OS. What the heck am I doing wrong?

Win98 has to be installed first and each OS will need its own partition.

If you want to dual boot you're going to have to start from scratch and format the drive.

Windows 98 first then install Windows 2K in the advanced option and select the secondary partition.

Just note that you have to run the FAT32 partition so Windows 98 and Windows 2K can see both the same partitions since if Windows 2K uses NTFS, Windows 98 can't view NTFS unless you want it like that.

but this is for the hard drive that doesn't HAVE an os on it yet. the problem is that I can't get the windows 98 cd to install on the correct hard drive.

also, what is the maximum size of a FAT32 partition?
