I was trying to put a socket 7 heat sink on my vodoo 3 2000 I chopped up the heat sink real good to make it fit and when I was sanding the gpu I myst of hit a capacitor looking thing to hard and broke it off. can any one tell me how to resider this little capacitor back on. :eh?: The capacitor is the called c57 it's next to the ram and gpu.

this sucks this was going to be my first mod other than fan stuff.

basically can I sodder it back on (I'm decent at soldering audio cables) with 2 little wires to extend it out a little, will that mess things up.

thanks for any help any one can give me

:eh?:

I not real sure if this will help but here it goes. Awhile back one of the maps in my lowrider stopped playing. I opened it up took out the board and there it was a fried cap. So I started thinking about what to do. I went to the shack and showed them the cap they got me the same one. I went home put it in and it worked again. I hope this helps.

I would try to resolder it back on or Go to the 'Shack' like klownin mentioned.

If all else fails you can still trade it in for a PNY card even if broken

thank but the cap is really small and i was wondering if ther is a ez way to sodder it back on

the thing is like 1/4 inch high and 1/8 wide

i'm going to go to the shack and get a new tip for my gas soddering gun tomorrow and try it. the thing is just so small
