Halo 3 reviews are in with an average of 9.5/10

Looks like Bungie has hit its 3rd homerun in 3 trips to the plate.

gametrailers gave it 9.8 and I tend to trust them the most with reviews, they make their cases well.

I'll be getting a 360 shortly and this will be the first game I get.

lol, while franky gave it a 5/10 for lack of naked mermaids, the average score is from IGN. I fogot the linkage, but must have edited the oringal post as you typed this:D

I am liking the fact that the story is getting wrapped up in an acceptable manner and it seems to be pretty interesting.

Im pretty happy that they arent planning(from what I know) to continue the series further than 3.

I will be curious to see what Bungie is going to do now...if they continue on with the Halo universe using another spartan....or maybe switch to a totally new project. That Halo RTS is being developed so maybe they'll come up with a new IP.

They said the multiplayer is pretty much like it was in the beta. (Which I've played.) I can understand how people that like halo would be happy with it. It's basically the same as Halo 2 with better graphics.

I was president of this student housing thing in Paris and a bunch of guys used to come to my neighbor's place every saturday and play Halo 2 all night long. I could never get into it, but it seemed like they were having a hell of a lot of fun.

Rainless, don't watch the GS one, watch the GameTrailers (http://www.gametrailers.com/player/25484.html) review. They've always done a much better, more thorough job in my opinion. Plus, if you DO ever play this game, the co-op seems right up your alley.

I've comfortably managed to passively avoid Halo for a very long time. Usually things like this eventually fall in my lap in some form or another. (Like the aforementioned Halo 2 being played right next door to me every Saturday night for six months.)

Eventually somebody is bound to come over with it, or it will be at somebody's house or something.

well my room mate got the game early, but i wasn't really pleased with what halo3 is. After more than two years and not even building a new engine for the game it simply looks like a shiny halo2 with a few more weapons. I guess i just thought that with all the money microsoft has and the time that was given for the game that it should have looked better and had some innovation. The game is fun to play but nothing like halo1 used to be. People will still buy it and cause xbox360 sales but i was just dissapointed... i'd like to hear what everyone else thinks when they get it. Maybe i've been watching too many crysis videos... expecting too much out of games now lol

All the "money" went into the advertising for the game. As I said I'm infinitely familiar with Halo 2, and I played the beta for Halo 3. I don't think Halo fans really even wanted anything more than a shiney Halo 2.

LMAO, Oni. Good find. It's pleasing to hear that corpse humping and strafe jumping will be commonplace on tomorrow's battlefield.

I just watched GameSpots video review. I'm honestly pretty stoked. One of my favorite things about halo 1 was the editable maps. Though, Bungie never intended them to be so, they could be hacked... and generally, hilarity would ensue. It'll be fun making up new stunt videos with the forge feature to share w/ buddies, etc.

I thought the single player stuff looked pretty hawt, tbh. Not in the ballpark of Crysis, but definitely on par with the 360's prettiest games. The multi definitely looks like a polished H2... but then, I never thought H2 was that bad aside from the console limitations and the shoddy normal mapping.

And did I see right? Did they put the effing scope back on the pistol?! :D

The GameTrailers review was much funner to watch. This will be a great week. Heroes tomorrow night. Halo 3 and Foo Fighters Tues. Makes a man want to take the rest of the week off work. :bday:

I'm not sure that there's a good way to extract the video from your xbox. If there were, one could make some pretty wicked stunt and multiplayer videos.

So what did you think of the SP campaign? Was it well paced, was there enough action and varied gameplay? Was the story line good and without any spoilers were you satisfied with the end fo the game/series?

Ars Technica gave it a 7/10. Lowest score I've seen.
I read the reviewer's reviews of bioshock and metroid and he didn't give scores for those. Makes me think that he is trying to get page hits by having a low score.
