dya think they have something like a golden socket (http://www.plycon.com/goldsock.htm) or trace tape for the 473s? that would rock. im stuck wiht the d850gb intel board and it has no love for OCing. thanks a bunch!

So far, no one has figured a way to get past Intel's multiplier locking, which is what the golden socket and trace tape are for on Athlon machines. So your socket 478 P4 is stuck at stock speed on that Intel board, I'm afraid. Do yourself a favor and build a box for your sister or brother, using that Intel board and get you an Asus P4T-E and oc like crazy.:D :D ;)

Even if there is a multiplier adjust ment with the golden sockets you need to have the chip unlocked which intel has done a outstanding job of doing so you have to just use the FSB which should be easy considering its at 100 on a P4.
