Hey guys,

I'm getting weird stuff come up when I run games, but not when I'm just browsing around in Vista. The funny thing is that both Quake 4 (a fairly new game) AND StarCraft (a dinosaur game) are both doing it.

In Quake 4, smoke, instead of looking like smoke, will look like giant black bubbles made in MS Paint that float up. When I zoom in with the machine gun, I only see the sight and nothing in the background.

When I load up StarCraft, which runs in like 640x480 or something, half the pixels are a completely random color and a lot ofthe screen is distorted. When I run in windows, everything is fine.

I'm running 2 GeForce 8800GTSs with the SLI bridge off, but I have the SLI option turned off in the driver settings. My Zalman VF1000s block the SLI bridge so I dont have one installed yet.

I would say re-install drivers, maybe a few times lol...

I had this exact problem a few years ago with quake 3 I think it was when my rig was processing ALL graphics by CPU and not graphics card....

Try latest Beta drivers.

Since when did this happen? Is it doing it before you installed your VF1000s?

Might be cooling problems, check your temps

Would overheating really cause problems like this?

these are not artifacts, which are caused by overheating, but the graphics card not rendering correctly.

can you recommend a good driver cleaner? I need one also - Xf-I and XP x64 don't play nicely
