Next gen gamer cards

Any talk yet about how the next cards from nVidia and ATi will compare to their current top offerings? I am starting to look at cards but if performance looks to double up in the next couple months I can wait....

One camp says that the g92's are just a mid range gaming card (8700). The other says it's a 1teraflop monster. There's no hard evidence really, not yet.

It is all rumor at this point. As far as I am concerned it does not exist. Remember you can wait forever and never game or you can buy today and game, your choice. I tend to think that there will not be an 8800 killer for a while.

There are rumors but nothing more at this point...last I read the g92 would be coming out late november and the g100 in q1 '08....who knows if any of that is true though.

I think it is more likely that the G92 rumour is made up by ATI in an attempt to get people to stop buying current cards and wait, than the G92 to be a 9xxx card due to be released soon

aja, I would think that even if it were true that ATi provided misinformation over the internet, I doubt it would discourage enough people to make a difference in business, as well as it being pointless to even try when it seems most of these recent rumors point to these cards as being a better mid range.

I was making a, rather sarcastic, point:

I was saying that the aforementioned (crazy) theory is more likely to be true than the 9xxx cards to be released soon.

like saying "I think it is more likely that I will win the lottery than G92 is a 9xxx card due to be released soon....."

See what I mean? Hehe I don't believe ATI would do that for a second!
