well i went to fry's and got a decent deal on this receiver..

http://shop4.outpost.com/product/5200447;jsessionid=G8YAlMV217hTZZJXJe2I0Q**.node2? site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

was on sale for $149 + an extra $20 off because it was open boxed but everything was still there and worked absolutely fine.

Anyways..

I have left over R/L front and rear speakers and the center speaker from a cheapy set im using till after i decide on which monitors and such to buy.

So anyways i need a decent subwoofer for gaming/tv and dvd playback between $100 and $200 for this.

On the other hand i can just spend $500 on get the 5.1 speaker set from polk audio.. http://shop4.outpost.com/product/4183003?site=sr:SEARCH:MAIN_RSLT_PG

so what should i do?

I managed to get a Klipsch KSW-12 from BestBuy for $150 a few months ago(was a display model). It sounds great, and provides a ton of base. I have had pretty good luck buying display items from BB, especially home audio items. I know it sounds like a long shot, but it may work out for you too. I dont know of any other subs that sound quite as good for the money.

I dont know much about Polk Audios "HT in a box" setups, but I have heard some great stuff from some of their individual speakers. I dont suppose you could really go wrong with PA, but I personally would prefer a sub with a little more "oomph" then the one they include.

They should have a 10" Velodyne there for about $149. Matches well with just about everything. I'm probably going to grab one myself in the near future once my surrounds get replaced with some R150s.
