Does anyone know a more effective way to compress a video? As im making some gifs outta some videos and am getting some rather large file sizes... Otherwise, i have to lower the resolution waaay low.

hehe my avatar is one of my first attempts. :D

if you really want to compress a movie file d/l virtual dub and the latest divx codec. use the divx MPEG-4 fast motion codec to process it, it does a really good job without sacrificing too much visual quality. once you get good w/ the filters you can knock off about 1/3 at least with out being able to hardly tell the difference between the two.

yea the divx codec compresses it very nicely, but the problem is im converting clips into gifs. Therefore i need to optimize clips as much as possible while minimizing desortions. :D

I like the VCD format, I use it whenever I make a video.
