Radeon 8500: How do I get the HSF off?

I need to get the HSF on the core off. what is the easiest way to do this? I Know the trick about putting the card in the fridge, but if I do that, I'm afraid my RAM HS's will fall off, so I need another way to get it off.

LOL Walter,

The Radeon Heatsink pops right off if you put a credit card next to the heatsink and you take a butter knife and place that on the credit card, a little pressure and that ATI heatsink pops right off.


Just take your time and if its stuborn put it in an anti static baggie and place it in the Freezer, the ramsinks wont fall off unless you want them to come off. :)


I have at least 15 ATI heatsinks in a box that I took off and its amazing on some how little thermal adhesive they put on.
