and that is a decent score =)
Could be just me, but I dont think it is for a QX9650 you can do the same or better with a Q6600.

Skulltrail is a dual socket motherboard by Intel, not a chip codename.

prices of the asus maximus formula mobo =)??
prices of the asus maximus formula mobo =)??$375 is the price I've seen tossed around for the Maximus Formula (Maximus Extreme will be even more expensive), but the way Blitz never came and then went, who knows when we'll even see one in the U.S. retail channel :) P5Es will be the non-ROG Asus X38 boards and should hopefully be a good bit cheaper...or at least <$300

Is this a beauty contest ?
I bet the block is as useful as the watercooled ram to choke the pump.

@ SuperMiguel
You need to chill out. The chip isn't even released yet, it is nearly impossible for people to know what board (that also isn't released yet) will be best for it.
Yikes. You seem so excited, heh.

well history seems to be repeating and im putting my money on Abit X38 Quad GT(ddr2) board and possibly the X38 MAX(ddr3) boards. abit p965 quad gt was one of the best ocing mobo's for p965, cause of the ability to set the fsb strap. actually have it forced unlike the high end asus boards.
If the socket 775 Penryn is really supposed to be arriving in November, please list a link. Last I heard the November release was going to be server socket 771 (Xeon) with the desktop 775 in January. Of course, maybe I heard wrong or they changed the release dates.
I don't know exactly when the X38 mobos will arrive, buy we will probably start seeing some of 'em about mid October through early November.
The QX9650 will be released on November 11th. All the others won't be till January.
Ok, so the November release is one extreme outrageously expensive socket 775 and the server lineup.

Just to chime in
X38 no SLI
Skulltrail, yes SLI
last time I checked anyway.

Though I will be getting one, but I have my reasons ;)

in alot of cases yes, cause they are high binned cpus with a wide range of multi's. you pay out the ying/yang for that reason.

I've been trying to get my Q9650 to run 4.05GHz - Prime Stable and I think I'm jsut about there, but I think my thermals are still way too high. I'm running a corsair H50 hydro cooler and I'm hitting 72-74c within 15 minutes on Prime small FFTs, any help would be really appreciated...thanks.
