Not sure how many of you guys frequent into the cooling section of the forum, so thought I would make my own review of this cooler here it can really be read.

Zalman VF1000 with RHS88 heatsink for 8800 series cards.
Ive been reading for a while how hot these cards run and I just recieved my 8800GTX today in the mail, well when I ordered it I went ahead and ordered the Zalman with it as I didnt want my stuff runnign hot plus I like a quiet system.

I gotta say, this thing does a incredible job, it keeps the thing idle at 50c, and loads at 61c. Ive ready plenty of threads of stock coolers running into the mid to high 70's. Not to mention how nice and compact and slim this design is.

The biggest downfalls of it, its expensive, will run you about $90, and its kinda time consuming to put on, but not bad. Overall, Id say its worth it to anybody looking to get some nice overclocks out of the 8800's and really wanting to keep them cool and quiet.

Thanks, I just wish I could kinda hide some of my wiring a bit better. Wish I had one of those PSU with the pluggable wires.

they are called "modular" PSU's, just so you know

the wiring fix is easy just remove the bottom cage and make a fake floor and put all wires under fake floor :D

Would that create any extra heat within the case itself since it is not exhausting directly out the back?

I have a prelude sound card that would be somewhat near the video card, and I'm wondering if any ambient heat would be created around the video card with this type of cooling.

Lol, your tellin me it only just fits, I got worried for a minute, I had to like turn it sideways to get it in there, and it dwarfs the old cooler big time.

And yes, it does create some extra heat inside the case, but as you can see I got plenty of airflow through mine so it doesnt really matter to much. It works awesome, just make sure you have some good airflow through your case to get rid of the heat.
