Well, all my old audio stuff has to go so I would like to Copy all my tapes cd's and LP's to my hard drive and have a way to make cd's with the tracks I like for my vehicles. I tryed this once with Nero and the cd's have popping sounds during playback and it seems like it wanted to copy complete cd's and not list the songs seperately.
I need freeware that has a low learning curve because just my 45 collection could take days to play and copy so I don't want to have to learn a lot just to archive all of this before it goes to the burn pile. I am keeping my stand up speakers so good playback is needed.
Thanks for any advice.

Uh, at least give the stuff away to a good home instead of just sending it to the burn pile. I would LOVE to have LP's etc....I love nostalgic feeling inducing stuff.

I like the creative software that comes with X-Fi.

I believe it can automatically break down tracks based on silences etc. And the hardware encoding might save some time when doing edits.

Also it allows you to encode to super high quality, much better than even wav - if that's your thing.

Hey thanks for the link. I have talked to a store that sells old records. It would seem that old Mowtown,Beatles and other collections are worth a good deal of money. Who would'a thought. They are even intersested in seeing all of the signed country demos my stepmom collected over the years.

If something is old and ugly, and preferably covered in dust, it is probably worth something!
