Second, I have for weeks been attempting to remove this big pocket of air by running my rig for a while, turning it off, then filling the top with some coolant, HOWEVER, there are many a time that when I do attempt to fill it, when I take the cap off the res coolant flows over.

Any tips?

PS - this is a case I can tip or really spin around at all.

Let it run, as long as the pump has water and the loop has water moving inside you won't hurt anything. It will take about 3-6 days to get 98% of the air out.

You may need to open up the res/t-line to let out some of the pressure to help it bleed. But other then that, shake the rad a little to make sure that the water is flowing properly.
If you plan on using water wetter only use a few drops (however, I don't believe it will help your bubble situation). If the water starts looking pink, you've used way to much.

Does increasing the pump speed help?

Does water wetter help?
I've found for initial bleeding (tons of air), short bursts of full tilt help "unstick" the air that is in the rad or blocks. Once I get most of it out, a low speed (3 on the 655) for the first hour and then every hour after that turn it up 1 notch. I leave it on 5 for a long time (sometimes even using the computer).

Never tried it.

How much water are you talking about here? And is the res completely filled to the top? I am trying to figure out what would cause it to overflow and I am really at a loss.

Does water wetter help?

No, it has no affect on the travel of air through the system. Water wetter is supposed to reduce the surface tension which doesn't really help a trapped air bubble ;).

I can't tell much from the pictures. You may want to try moving the system around a bit, see how that affects the bubble(s).

Just a few tips, turn off all the case's lighting and turn on all your room lighting, and then take your picture. Also take close up shots by moving the camera away and using the optical zoom if available. By moving close up and zooming in, you're nowhere near the camera's focal point unless you have a lens designed for magnification at close distances (a la a microscope).

I always tilted my case side by side and tapping the rad to remove all the trapped air.

Tilt to one side, add some books to keep it tilted, then tap the rad. A while later do it the other way.

It will be time consuming but this works like a charm for me.
