i-Ram has been out for years and, afaik, no longer being manufactured, although you can still find them for purchase at various stores and eBay for nearly the same price as when it was first introduced.
It also will not work with 2GB sticks. Only 1GB for up to 4GB total capacity. The "newer" revision that was supposed to be used in a 5 1/2" bay that did accept 2GB sticks and work with SATA2, was never released. Although, there was a 5 1/2" bay version of the original 4GB model.
I have tried some of the SuperSpeed products. I didnt really notice any improvement in speed in everyday apps that I use with any of thier products. Also, thier software ram-disk, although much faster then the i-Ram, is still limited to just a 4GB virtual drive, and of course, further limited by the amount of ram you have installed in your system. Since XP32 cannot see or use more then 4GB of ram, which are alot of boards mamimum (not talking about server boards or recent boards), you'll never have a 4GB virtual drive. Not much you can use it for except a small swap drive space. Forget about installing any full applications or recent games into a tiny little drive.

Ya I seen one at ewiz for 119$
Mpegger do you think you would see much performance gain by creating a software ram-disk say 1024mb and put xp's page file on that?

I'll tell you in a few days.
I run with 4gigs, although XP only sees 3.4GB. But even after playing some mmo's (huge memory hogs), and having all the background task running, my system rarely uses more then 1.7GB of ram, and less then 1GB swap space. (XP will always swap part of itself and other programs to a page file, even if you have more then enough free ram available.) So I'm gonna try a 1GB page file in a ram disk and see what that does, if anything.

I am here every day lurking :)

Trying to keep track of all the threads you are involved in :)

Good to hear that Nostromo.
OT, sorry OP for "little" thread jack, since you're on those speedy drives, you must have the drive images just incase the battery runs out right ?
If, again, a BIG IF, you have a chance & time when you're scratching that raided drives, dunno, maybe OS re-install or anything else that has to do with scratching the whole raid array, do you mind test this out if its possible HERE (http://www.ocforums.com/showpost.php?p=4993348&postcount=528) ...please ... ?

Update.
So far, its a no go for the swap file on the ram disk. For some reason, the swap file will not be created on the ram disk (and yes, it is the Plus version). Cant even bench the ram drive in HDTach (would have been nice to see those numbers).
