Can someone explain to me what most use dual booting for? The only thing i can think of is if you have programs that dont run on one os, but run fine on the other...or have hardware that isnt compatible with one os, but runs fine on the other. Plz enlighten me :)

yap i think thats pretty much the biggest reason.

dual booting between a linux os and a windows because of prog compats, and the many more games that are on windows.

Linux = Networking
Windows = Games

You are correct.

Games, programs etc.

Besides finicky programs, you can use one OS to fix the other in case of a mishap. Much faster than having to boot to safe mode or DOS to fix things.

Of course it depends on how broken it is:)

I would imagine it requires a bit more ram as well. But whats the recommended amount of ram to have when dual booting?

You can only boot to one OS at a time, so it dosen't require any more ram than a single boot would.
