i have an intergrated mobo and the video card it uses is in the mobo. And I want to get a another video card. Can I? Or am I stuck with just using my mobo video card?

If your motherboardhas an AGP or PCI slot, yes. Basically, if you have an AGP port, get one for AGP. If you dont have any, get a Radeon PCI. You should be able to disable your onboard video by either using a jumper, or disabling it via the BIOS. heres my card (AGP)

Look around in the BIOS. Something about onboard video should be in there. if it's not, when you get the card, go to windows, go to the current video (intel probably), under drivers, and disable in all hardware profiles. Then install your new card.

as you look at the slots on your motherboard and if you see one that sticks out or is a different color yet still looks like the majority of the other slots in there you can get an agp card....agp cards are much better than pci (the other slots)

ok but im not gonna open my comp yet because of the enviornment. I will open it when i move it to a more sutable place yes agp is much better than pci

and i plan on getting a geforce 2 card. Is that card a good one for my gaming needs?

matters on which ones. I would recomend the following if you are semi broke: Geforce 2 ti (make it a Good brand, such as hercules), Geforce 2 Ultra, or Geforce 3 ti200. If you have some money to burn, get the Geforce 3, or the Geforce 3 ti500!. You could also get an ATI Radeon 7500 or 8500. Of course, if you are really broke, you could just get a Matrox or SiS card...

i just want one that can hold on an internet game 32 people and not have a framrate problem

yes and if your one rich son of a bi--- heheheheh (which i know you arent my offspring loving friend)

i would go with the radeon 8500 all in wonder oh no im drooling again.:D:D:D

i would get either a Geforce2Ti500 or a Radeon7500 for around 100$ those should run any current games fine, for a little more money the Geforce3Ti200 is a very good choice and in the high end i suggest radeon8500 simply because it is cheaper than the geforce3 Ti500s...

Most motherboards with disable onboard video if a vid card is detected in one of the slots. Most of the ones I have installed for people were like that only 2 needed a BIOS reseting( most of the time i was installing a vid card because the onboard went out)

If I restart my computer I will take a picture of my Bios screen to show how I turned off my Onboard Video..as I got a Radeon 32Mb Sdr this year...It's really eazy.

Ok now look here I took 3 pictures...Not eveyone's Bios looks the same But they most all do the same thing... When you get under the Video page you can pick from Auto or Onboard....if you want to put in a Pci Video card you would slect Auto..And reboot the computer and it should find the video card...also I might say is you have to disable you on board before you put in the new card.. Don't delelte it from your Devices meun but just disable it..Because if you take it off from the system it will find it again when you restart...... Got it?

Your cooling might be insufficient. You also might be overclocking to much. run Scandisk on your hard drive, fix it, then defragment it, also.

ive never even overclocked my comp speed. I saw a space in the back of my comp above my power supply Im guessing its for a cooler or something what do u guys think?

Wish i had a digi cam so i could show u guys

Some power supplies have a fan on top. thats what that is for. Make sure your Power Supply is generating enough power. What wattage is it? Modern P4 and AMD systems requie 300 watts at minimum. More than that is recomended. Even if your not overclocking, your airflow might be insufficient, and your components may be overheating.

Yes and also makeing sure you disabled the onboard video card in windows first. Shut down and install the card.
