CD-Rom Dead?

My 52x Creative Cd-ROM drive just stopped working today. Is this common? This is not the first time this has happened. have gone through 3 CD-Rom drives since march...its weird! They just stop reading CD's. anyone else have this problem?

I have that same 52x Creative CD-ROM and I have had no problems with it......although I have heard that they start to give out after a while.

Maybe its your cables?

It's not the cable, already checked that. No, haven't tried resetting it, will try it now.
