I just bought a 360 Elite today so I could play Halo 3. I can't put in words how good the campaign is at this point, been playing for 3 hours straight.

Anyhow, what other games are really fun for the 360? I like multiplayer but offline. I don't have quick enough internet for online play, but still like playing games with friends offline.

Any good recommendations? I beat Gears of War a while back with a friend on his 360 and that was another awesome game. Anything out like that lately?

Thanks

Forza 2 is awesome if you like racing games. Project Gotham Racing 4 looks nice as well.

I'll vote for Forza Motorsport 2 and Bioshock.

I like the 2K sports games myself, particularly NBA 2K7 (haven't played 2K8 yet). Bioshock is awesome, it looks and sounds better on a high-end PC though, of course.

How fast is your connection? I've had great games on connections as low as 1.5MB DSL. In any event, here are some great multi-games.

Rainbow Six: Vegas - Perhaps the DEEPEST multi-player game on the 360; tons of modes, co-op, and VERY hard/lengthy achievements when it comes to your rank

GRAW 1 & 2 - Great games SP & Multi; very deep but not as quite as RB6

Crackdown - You can co-op with another player and complete the entire game

Lost Planet - SP is fun, but a bit short; the multi is pretty good but it's not for everyone; most of the fun multi would come from online gaming, though

Marvel Ultimate Alliance - This would be a fun co-op game [offline or online] IF and ONLY IF you're in to comic books/superheros; it's a pretty good button masher with a lot of nostalgia

Bioshock is a great game but it's SP only

COD 2 or 3 might be worth a look, but know that Call of Duty 4 is just on the horizon

Oh, and let's not forget sports games!

I can recommend many other games but this is a good start if you're looking for multiplayer games.

Well there are alot of good ones to choose for sure, here is a little breakdown of my faves by genre, most have offline multi but some don't:

Sports
EA sports NHL 08
Madden 08
Tiger Woods 07

Racing
Forza Motorsport 2
Need for speed: carbon
Project Gotham Racing 3-4
Burnout: Revenge
Test Drive Unlimited

FPS/Action
Bioshock
Halo 3
Lost Planet: Cold Reality
Condemned: Criminal Origins
The Darkness
FEAR
Gears Of War

Role Playing
Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion

I'm sure I'm forgetting alot of other ones lol, but you should be happy with any of the above titles, and alot of em have great graphics/sound to go along with great gameplay. A few upcoming promising titles include Conan, Ace Combat 6, The Orange Box and Assasins Creed.

Dude you guys are great! I forgot all about the Rainbow Six series. On my original Xbox I used to play Rainbow Six Black Arrow for days on end. That was like the best game ever, and even better online.

I have satellite internet so latency is the issue, unfortunately.

I'm gonna pick up Rainbow Six Vegas, and Gears of War. I beat Gears before but it was such a good game its worth keeping around for another play through. Oblivion I beat to death on the PC, so I guess I'll skip it on the 360.

please don't buy gears if you've already beaten it, and since you won't be playing online one of the other fine games will serve you alot better. Your best bet really is to goto your local video store and rent one or more of the games that have been suggested to you here, and then basing a purchase dependant on the game or games you want to play further. Cheers :).

all the ones mentioned are great, Crackdown is good too but rent it as it is short and kind of easy. Saints Row is like GTA-lite, but I liked it.

Dead Rising is supposed to be all kinds of awesome. Bioshock is supposed to be a slice of alright pie, too. Gears of War is pretty great, too, and I've heard nothing but good things about Crackdown.

You might wanna check out Eternal Sonata (Trusty Bell) or Blue Dragon to fill the RPG void that plagues the Xbox 360.

A void that will soon be filled by Mass Effect. Canadian rpg > Japanese rpg

I dunno, those Canadians don't exactly have a good reputation of making RPG's...

:santa: Just kidding, Mass Effect looks good, let's hope it plays good.
