View Full Version : Earbuds >$50
Pretty simple, I don't know too much about ear buds but I'm looking for a good pair that I can take with to the gym and pretty much anywhere else. I have an Ipod and don't want to settle for the original pair.
I know that these earphones can cost anywhere from $10 to $150, but what the difference is other then price I'm not sure, so I'd like my buying point to be the sub 50 range. If anything I'll take recommendations on brands or personal experiences. Thanks everyone.

I tried a pair of more expensive ear buds then my friend had these:

I convinced him to trade me and I love them they sound great for the price and with the clip that goes around the ear they will never fall out or hurt your ears from constant moving around. Very comfortable compaired to other earbud types
There are 2 really good vendors.. shure and etymotics. Check out the ones that fit your price range.
Ok I went ahead and ordered these http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16826159021
but I'm still looking for a pair of obscure headphones, part of the real reason to have tiny less capable headphones, is being concealable. I'll look into those other two brands, but like I said any other testimonials will be appreciated.
for cheap canalphones JVC marshallows can't be beat. You can get them for $15 from circuitcity. JVC has a new model out for a little over $30 at CC that's supposed to be better.
Koss KSC75 are great for the money, but are a clip on.
Sennhsier px100 is a great portable headphone for $50. You can get the behind the head version in the pmx100.
for an IEM look into the super.fi 3 for $60 from radio shack or the ER6i at about $75. d-jays are $100 from audiocubes or headphone.com.
I'm currently looking at a pair of Denon AH-C700's. Amazon has them on sale for $130 ($70 off) and many people on head-fi seem to like them over other IEMs like the e500's

I own a pair of Etymotic ER6i and I love them. One issue with them is to get a good seal, you need to have the proper size fittings that fit your ears. The foam ones are most comfortable and give the best seal but they come in 3 sizes. Mine only came with the medium fittings and I'm currently waiting to get the smaller ones in the mail since my ears are kinda small and the medium fittings don't go into my ear canal too well.
They sound amazing however, so detailed its crazy.
pretty much what soloz2 said
