definetly not the zalman cooler... its barly better if not the same as the stock cooler... the stock cooler does quite well IMO i naver have the fan on my GTS above 60% and its nice and quite (comming from a guy who thinks a yate loon @ 6v is still loud)... and my gts has a smaller cooler than the gtx.

Also the zalman cooler you have to buy another seperate cooler and the whole thing comes to like 90 bucks... if you really want aftermaket cooling look into the thermalright HR-03 plus

I beg to differ, the Zalman works very well. My card loads at only 61c, idles at 51c. Your gonna tell me thats not a significant improvement. You just need to have a well ventelated case.

IF you have a good ventilated case then you dont need a different cooler.

But, if you DONT have good case ventilation, then even an after market cooler wont help you.

Only if you want to turn your GTX into a brick lol. The stock 8800GTX cooler is very good. You can
improve it by using RivaTuner to set the fan speed at 90-100% manually but that is about it.

The stock GTX cooler also cools the memory, Vcore mosfets and the NV I/O chip. While the memory
and the Vcore mosfets are not that big a deal the NV I/O chip is. Change to cooling solution that doesn't
take care of the NV I/O chip and the card will make a very quick trip to video card Valhala.

Viper is right, if you get a Zalman, you have to get the VF1000 with the HSR88 ram/ I/O and mosfet cooler.

My 8800gtx stock cooler is SUCKING right now... loading out at 77+ at 100% fan. Case is open, good air movement, etc.... the cooler was removed and remounted, maybe I should remount it again....

Or get a dang $50 cooler....
