I Have a 32in SDTV that I just switched from Svideo to Componet coming from my video card. Everything was fine when hooked up Svideo although when I first hooked it up I had to resize the screen as I do now…. Only trouble is now when I go to resize the screen I set it to a size that will fit well and click apply when everything flashes and it comes back just the way it was before. I tried to move up to the latest NVIDIA drivers and found that now when I try to press + or – to resize the screen the monitors just flash and nothing happens so I am stuck with a few inches of the sides clipped all the way around.

All other settings work ok… I can move the screen left and right and do everything else… I just can not shrink the size

Anyone know how I could fix this?

I moved back to Svideo and everything is fine... and I can adjust the size of the desktop... I notice when on Svideo it shows as a TV and on Componet it shows as a HDTV
Thanks

I hope this KB article I found is not the case :(

Overscan. You'll want to go into the NV control panel and look for overscan utilities. It'll allow you to resize to compensate.

All you're really doing it causing the video card to resize over component instead of outputting native over S-Video...you might as well just use the S-Video until you can get a HDTV. You'll be able to tell which you prefer once you get things set correctly. The component might be a sharper picture still.
