Im trying to install catalyst 7.7 drivers on my Ati powered Toshiba laptop because they will supposedly fix a problem I'm having with running HL2. Anyway, I uninstalled the old drivers, follow driver clean instructions to the letter and installed the new drivers. The problem is, under display adapters, the Ati drivers are not showing up, only "standard VGA adapter" I've tried to uninstall/reinstall/update the catalyst drivers to no avail. I've even tried uninstalling the VGA adapter and installing the catalyst drivers but it doesn't work. The installation goes fine without any errors but it seems to think that everything but the Southbridge driver is installed because thats all it does. Here's the install log.

my guess would be to uninstall the new drivers and go with the old ones. then see if it gives you the same problem. where did you get the new drivers from?

Well most Laptop manufactures have there own bios flashed onto the GPU and such which makes it basically a hassle for anyone to upgrade any drivers on there PC. Really you have to go to the Laptop makers website and find what the latest version of the drivers is.
