Hi Guys
My friends cd burner (Ricoh MP7083a) stopped functioning today while he was burning a cd (using Hotburn). He never had any problems with it until today. The tray can open and close, but it doesn't read or write cd's anymore..it just keeps blinking it's light on and off and when you click on the drive in 'My Computer', an error message pops up saying that:
F:\ is not accessible.
The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error
He tried rebooting a few times, disconnecting the drive from the PC and uninstalling it from Windows, then installing it again, he also ran a virus scan (NAV 2002) of his PC but nothing turned up. There are no conflicts when I checked Device manager. And it still has the same problem.
Any of you guys know if there is a way to fix this problem or is the burner stuffed?
Don't know if this will help, but he has an AMD TBird 1.3ghz, MSI motherboard (not sure what model), 256 mb sdram, Ricoh MP7083a. He is currently running Win2k.
Any help is appreciated. Thanks.
