OK I've got the slotket and those two black things on the side had to be taken off to actually go on.

Now that it is in I was just comparing the heatsinks I was getting and then with a ruler I was measuring 80mm and hit the slotket and it obviously went out of place or something and the cpu froze. So the reason of that is because the slotket moved. Any way to prevent this?

Why did you have to remove the cpu mounting rails on your mobo? I'm using an Abit slotket 3 with no problems on my Soyo board. If the rails that you have don't fit the slotket, go check out the rails that millisic.com has on their site and see if they are different than the ones you pulled.

From your sig, you appear to have an Asus slotket. I had two S370-DL Asus slotkets in my old duallie. They had the weirdest retension mechanisms I've ever seen. I think the slotket group over at Asus must be smoking crack. Anyway, you can get them in and once you do, they're pretty stable. You have to tilt the slotket and get one side in beneath the retension rail, then slip the other one in. It'll work, it's just very strange.

You really need those black side rails for support. I had no problem fitting my slocket in my old BH6 but that was an MSI-6905 Master sloket. Not sure how different the Asus is.

Yea I believe deez used twist ties :)

Although it works great and all just if you move it the cpu will freeze obviously.

...and you run the risk of shorting out the CPU. Remove your CPU, put the rails back on, and very carefully put the slotket back in. The rails can bend a little, but by no means would I have ever removed them.

The width of the rail is too wide and the things on the motherboard which hold the slot inplace itself is too small....

If I could CrystalMethod I would .. :/

Do you mean that the rail's slot is too wide for the slotket, or the slotket is too wide for your rails? If the rails are too wide to hold the slotket securely, you can use some small, thin tie-wraps to hold the slotket in the rails. If it's the other way, then go to millisec.com (http://www.millisec.com/mischardware.html) and check these rails out and see if they are different from your present rails. If they look like they will fit, these are only $4. Also, the shipping is reasonable; they only charge a flat rate of $6 shipping, no matter how much stuff you order. I bought some fans from them recently; ordered an 84 cfm Sunon 120, among other things. When I received the order they had subbed a Panaflo 120 86.5 cfm fan for the same price because they were out of the Sunon.

I'm going to have to try the twist ties then.

The rails on the slotket are too wide for it so it forces me to take it off.
