I know I probably shouldn't be relying on "Newegg Wattage Calculator" but the figure it comes up with has me troubled.
I just ordered a 2900 pro, and some ram. After my purchases here is what my power supply will need to power:
E6600 @ 3.1ghz
P5W DH Mobo
4 gigs of Ram
2 HD's
1 2900 pro (might try flashing it to a 2900XT)
1 sound card
1 wireless card
1 DVD burner
3 120mm fans
Newegg said it recommended a 615 Watt PSU.
Think I'll be good to go or should I reconsider my choice?
Your rig won't get near 610w's. Probably like 350w. You will be fine :)

Thanks for the quick response!
I'm sure the "newegg wattage calculator" adds a few hundred to cover their butts and grab an extra few $$$ of you!

That system draws 250W at most.

It is not all about wattage. Infact I consider the amperage drawn and the amperage created by the PSU much more important.

I've been holding back on my overclocking because I was afraid my PSU wouldn't be able to handle the load. I've purchased the PCPC 610 to see if I can get things rolling and finally find the max clock for my rig. (I'm pretty sure this chip can do more than 3.6)
