So how's TF2?

Been debating picking up the Orange box for a bit, mainly for TF2 (though I've heard Portal is very fun/addictive). I was HUGE fan of TFC, easily my favorite game of all time (mostly played medic, O/D sold, O demo). Just wondering if someone who's played both could compare the two? Is conc/rocket/pipe/gren jumping existent/viable in TF2? Are the game physics comparable? (air acceleration etc.)

Never played the original one but this game is awesome should buy it, portal is awesome and ep2 is awesome to its just a awesome package :D

There are no grenades, and it's probably for the better. TFC was nade spamming hell. And it's actually way more fun than TFC was, probably due to distinct, balanced classes.

It doesn't matter anyway, get the Orange Box. It's worth it x5 (C WHUT I DID THAR?)

TF2 is freakin' great. Was a huge fan of QWTF and this definitely does it justice, its hilarious, fun and somewhat addictive :p

yeah the orange box is worth it. tf2 is ace its balanced and its fun, it also looks good. portal is amazing and probaly the funniest dark humor since ever. i havent played episode 2 but thats because im still playing the other games. oh and you get a 10 level PEGGLE EXXXXXTTTRRREEEEEEMMMMEEEE demo

I have really only played TF2 for about 4-5 hours, but coming from someone who has been addicted to Counter Strike (1.6/CS:S) I really like this game. All of the classes seem fairly balanced (although I wish the Scout shotgun was stronger) and has been very enjoyable so far.

Regarding the Orange Box, I was really kinda put off by Steam making me purchase the Orange Box to play HL2:E2 and Portal. However having played both Portal, TF2, and EP2 it really is worth the $45 that I spent thru Steam ($40 as Rattle stated thru Amazon). Buy the Orange box and enjoy three great games for $40, and incase you don't own HL2 or HL2:EP1, this is an absolute steal for $40!

Really? At what range? I really only played the Scout class for about 30-45 minutes of my total playing time, but I don't think I ever got a one shot kill and I would consider myself a decent shot.

As a scout, critical hit at point blank to the head does a lot of damage...but I'm not sure it would 1shot a heavy...

I think the sniper headshot does ~150dmg with ~0 charge (enough to kill a scout, engineer, sniper, etc) and 450dmg fully charged (enough to take out a heavy fully boosted by a medic (450hp). I find it to often be more effective to shoot a heavy in the head twice than wait for it to charge before I headshot him...especially if he's shooting at me; same thing goes for pyros and soldiers trying to take me out...headshot them and they only have 50hp left, easy to finish them off with smg and then get back to business.

Sometimes it drives me nuts that getting shot, even for as little as 2dmg, messes up your aim. I'm not saying getting hit by a rocket shouldn't, but some guy with a shotgun across the map hitting you for 1-4? Whatever...

I haven't really enjoyed TF2 as much as most of my friends (they all love it) but you should definitely find a way to play Portal.

edit: doh. my 2 week playing time went down when I got re-addicted to Guild Wars and bought eye of the north expansion. I was over 50 hours in a 2 week period on TF2 at one point. :P

I can't get used to the game play of TF2 at all. I feel like all the weapons, except the sniper rifle, are horribly inaccurate, and that there's not much strategy involved. Granted, I haven't had much time to play it to give it a real chance, so my opinion could very well change once I have some more time with it.

Nah man, it is all about spam. It isn't that the weapons are inaccurate it is just hard to aim. I thought the shotgun was horrible at first but now I rock w/ it. You just have to learn how to play it. Took me about 5 hours to really get into it. I had similar feelings when I started playing it.

Hahaha, Kenny with a flame thrower ;) Also did you notice that in the spawn where all the lockers are there is a locker for each class, the pyro seems to have a hand bag in its locker... :p
