View Full Version : Error When installing Call of Duty 2 something about MSVCR80.DLL

Yea I get this error...

When I try to install COD2. I could install it find on my other computer but I tried it on this one and it just wont work. Anyone have an idea on how to fix it?

Thanks All, here was the solution...
Uninstalling Net Frameork 2.0, and 1.1, going step by step running registriy fixes and attempting to install at each step did not solve the problem.
Disabling Windows Defender did not fix the problem.
However, Uninstalling Windows Defender does fix the problem.
Wanted to post that for anyone else who comes accross the same error.
Thanks for your help, I got the hint here that led me to the solution.

do you have Office 2007 installed by chance?
i had an issue one time when installing COD2 with office 2007 installed...i got the same kind of errors

uninstalled office 2007 until i installed COD2 then reinstalled office

I had a similar problem with the same file not found but a different program. I opened my documents and then notepad, named the file msvcr80.dll and saved. Copied it to the system32 folder and no more problems.
