k so i have to much crap on my harddrives so im looking to reformat the 500gb harddrive i have.. im going to do it like this "My Computer >> Right-Click Local Disk C: >> Format" And i have a few questions:
1) Will it delete my OS
2) Is there any way i can have it not delete one folder (52gb) filled with my pictures/ videos...etc

Well, I don't think it will let you format your OS drive...
1. If you do format, it erases EVERYTHING off the drive.
2. No, it just formats the entire drive. Back stuff up first.

Put the stuff on another harddrive/put it on DVDs

The best way to do it if you have never reformated before is:
1. Back up all the stuff you want to keep, your sig says you have 2 hdds so use one of them to keep the files.
2. Unplug the 2nd HDD to avoid mistakes
3. Put in the OS cd you have and boot to it then choose to format and install your OS again.
4. When everything is installed plug in the other HDD and copy back all your files.
5. Be happy because your OS will now be much faster and better.
how did you get a rig like that going if you cant format one ?
just question, I'm curious.
you need your drivers for mobo after formatting of course.
