Hello,

Something really strange happend to me today. The raid bios on my ICH8R was recognising only one of my 2 hdds as part of its raid setup.

So at type/status one of the drives was "Non-RAID Disk".

This happend after I installed a memory with lower timmings which needed higher voltage for them. I forgot to add the voltage and the mobo kept reseting.

I turned the psu off for a few secs, powered up the pc (booted well this time), entered bios, set up everything back and after that this happened.

typically after a failed boot on modern motherboards, the BIOS will reset itself, or at least certain portions of itself.

This may be the source of your problem.

Did you fix it now?

Any news ? Never heard of this kind of problem before.

Is your rig stable like on Memtest ?

Yes, the rig was stable... actually it wasn't even oc'd when I changed the memory and got that error.

It was indeed a failed boot. This may be it - the bios reseting itself.

I didn't fix it... I simply lost everything (installed a new os, no raid this time).

Doh ! Really sorry to hear that ! :-/

Was that plain Raid 0 ? or Matrix Raid ?
