I have a;
Asus A8V Deluxe rev 2 that I have been running 4 sticks of Kingmax PC3200 ram 512meg each for a year with no problems.

I just put 4 sticks of G.Skill 1gig each PC3200 ram in and I keep getting a error that says: USB overvoltage system will shut down in 15 seconds.

If I put 3 sticks in everything is fine and windows boots and runs perfect, as soon as I put the 4th stick in I get the USB Overvoltage shutdown error.

This system is not overclocked at all and the ram is running 2.6v at timing 2.5-3-3-6

This system is running XP Home. I know I should only be able to see 3.5gig or so with 32bit windows, but I want to run 4 sticks to have dual channel.

I have tried different slots and different sticks but as soon as I have 4gig in I get that error.

Does anyone have any ideas what is causing this?

Hi

Customer reported when they update to bios 1017, they received error message on USB overvoltage. We suggest you change bios version to 1015

Normally this is the problem of the motherboard no memory.

Thank you

GSKILL USA REP

This is what G.Skill told me. I don't know if it corrects the USB overvoltage or now with the older Bios it just doesn't report it!
Interesting.
