can i uplug monitor while comp is on?

is it ok to uplug and replug in my monitor while the comp is on? i dont want to burn a video card doing this.... Thanks guys

I've done it a million times, so the answer is yes.

Yep. I do it a lot and also have a KVM switch, so I am effectively plugging and unplugging quite often.

I heard years ago that its a bad idea- voltage spikes or something. But, being stubborn and only having 3 monitors for five pcs and no kvm (yet) sometimes I need to view something on another rig.

I've done it often! Only had one video card die on me too.

And that died when I dropped a metal fan bracket on it!
